The Different Types of Human Destiny and Spiritual Realization

What Spiritual Realizations are possible? How does Spiritual Realization relate to ordinary views of human potential? What is the ultimate Spiritual Realization? Is there such a thing? And if the ultimate Spiritual Realization does exist, how does it relate to less complete forms of Spiritual Realization?

The Spectrum of Realization

Avatar Adi Da Samraj describes a comprehensive spectrum of possible human Realizations, corresponding to the seven stages of life:

• Physical and vital mastery -- Stages 1-3, dealing with the body, emotions, and mind
• Spiritual experiences -- Stage 4, including mystical visions, inner lights and sounds, and the awakening of spiritual energy
• Cosmic consciousness -- Stage 5, including out-of-body experiences, psychic powers, and union with the cosmic field of energy
• Transcendental Self-Realization -- Stage 6, the identification with Consciousness Itself, beyond all objects and experiences
• Divine Enlightenment -- Stage 7, the final and most complete Realization, in which Consciousness and its apparent modifications are recognized as not-two
